Inspiration A Challenge / success

Goals = Success

““Success means having the courage, the determination, and the will to become the person you believe you were meant to be." – George Sheehan

What are you better at doing than anyone else? What unique abilities give you a competitive edge? Try these seven tips to get you going, then think of any others that may keep you moving toward your personal best and for your personal success.

Human beings can use their potential only by striving to better themselves. “Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.“ - Ralph Waldo Emerson hit upon this important aspect of life and success. Basic plans tied to enthusiasm energizes goals that you set for yourself. In fact, a basic idea imagined first in your mind, with deep passion, can and will eventually become real. This type of achievement and motivation is vital for success.

The three major steps needed for achievement of a goal are:

  1. Have A General Concept or Idea

A generalization of something that you want to accomplish should be narrowed down to a logical and workable plan. This allows your goal to be achievable and within reach. For example, if you are interested in helping the elderly, the limits are endless. So, narrow down the ways you can help. Your goal cannot be attained with just a broad generalization because all elders cannot be helped by one person. When the concept is narrowed down, then it becomes realistic. One approach would be to volunteer or work in a retirement home. Another may be to visit the elderly in your neighborhood and help with their household tasks. Make up a similar plan for each of your goals.

  2. Make A Clear Description of Known and Potential Barriers

Describe what’s possible and what’s not possible to do. Think of the problems or obstacles that may arise. Could you find the time to do it? Does it require a huge financial obligation? What are some of the other possible barriers? A well thought-out description prepares you for a successful result.

  3. Create A Reasonable Plan for Carrying Out Your Goal

The last step is the work you need to do to put any plan into action. Undivided attention of your goal is necessary. Regardless of the obstacles, the plan’s guidelines, including the descriptions, should take care of them. If you complete your plan correctly, your goal may be successfully completed.

The real test of personal success is your ability to set goals, define the barriers or obstacles, and find the vital steps that allow progress. Do all that you can to help set your plan into action.

Then above all, put enthusiasm into your planning. Enthusiasm is the emotional key to making your plan work. It helps you grow, it broadens your senses, increases your faith in making things happen. It provides your mind with positive personal triumph. Go, do and be successful!

Success Is…

Strength…….the capacity or power to endure work or vigorous activity. It is competence; stability, and stick-to-it-ness. In almost every phase of your life, whether it’s for work or play, you must use your strength to complete each task.  To reach any successful goal, your thoughts must be in harmony with  your strengths.  Set realistic goals based on your ability, power, endurance and  experience.

Unconditional ……not limited in any way. Understanding; having the knowledge and the ability to apply judgment; to understand and judge another as well as yourself. Avoid placing restrictions or limitations on your ability to be open to the opinions, ideas and assistance of others. Be ready to view another’s thoughts and actions, before making judgments or conclusions.

Confidence …….having a firm belief in one’s own powers. Trusting your own thoughts, ideas, and feelings with deep faith boosts your confidence. This also leads to an absolute certainty in the trustworthiness of others. To encourage things to happen, find ways to overcome obstacles.

Chivalrous…….characterized  by kindness and concern for others. Being courteous and well-mannered in unpleasant situations is a worthy habit to develop. Show respect and be attentive to others - it comes back to you.

Effort……the constant supply of energy to do something. Anything worth having is never easy to accomplish. However, the payback from the effort  can be great. The enforcement of one good idea is worth more than a million good ideas not acted upon.

Stability …..the ability to withstand pressures, deadlines, and daily stress. The ability to balance priorities. Being able to bounce back from obstacles, delays, and stumbling blocks, Hold on to your sense of spirit and you can withstand many challenges.

Self-discipline …… self control, strength of mind, and will-power determines were you will be at the end of the week, the month, the year. What takes place in these small periods of a lifetime is what determines whether the whole of your life is successful.

Summary

Strength, confidence, effort, belief in yourself, will power, and self-discipline are just a few of the must haves to attain success. Whether your goal is a big one or a small one, put your energy into believing your own powers.

The Power of Enthusiasm

“Enthusiasm powers successful living.” - Norman Vincent Peale

Where do you suppose the word ‘enthusiasm’ gets its meaning? It comes from two Greek words EN and THEOS. EN means ‘IN’ and THEOS is the word for ‘GOD.’ So actually the word enthusiasm means IN GOD, or FULL OF GOD.

Then, the power of enthusiasm may mean, “ being full of God and staying that way.” Whenever you go through misfortunes in life, your enthusiasm may shatter for a moment or two. If you don’t have the power to confront misfortune, it’s difficult to bounce back.

The smallest hurt can cause great harm. It can affect your health and well-being. It may shut you off from family and friends. And it may affect your business relationships.

The lack of enthusiasm works against you. When you have it, it works magic. Enthusiasm is best when you let it come naturally and from your heart. It makes you feel powerful. Try it! Wouldn’t it be nice if it could be bottled? Or made available in prescription form?

Enthusiasm is an acquired skill, so a prescription isn’t necessary. It’s available to everyone. If you want it to work for you, you must work on your spirit and stay in touch with God. This simply means that all of your power comes from God, the source of your being.

Therefore, when God is in you, you have the meaning of life and the power to live successfully and enthusiastically. The power of enthusiasm can get you through many problems, ill-health, worry, and disappointing experiences. It increases your physical vitality; it keeps you  going when you think you haven’t  any strength left.

Have you ever noticed that when you are enthusiastic, it’s contagious? Many times when you are pleasant, upbeat, excited, or express passionate behavior, you pass it on to others, too. You stimulate and attract others to you--which are good behaviors to pass along. For a successful business and a successful personal life, decide to be enthusiastic. Make yourself enthusiastic by affirming it, thinking it, creating it, and continuing  to express it. You become a different person because of it.

Where does this source of enthusiasm come from? Enthusiasm starts from having a healthy soul. With a healthy soul your outlook is calm, and not easily disturbed. You express good will instead of hate. You are outgoing and not selfish, you are positive and not cynical.

When your faith is unwavering, you are rarely doubtful. You can tap into this source by your achievements. Whether small ones, big ones, or monumental achievements, they are all a cause to express your enthusiasm. Learn to appreciate everything you do along the way to your achievements or your successes. This is where you receive the most pleasure.

Enjoy your successes one at a time. Then plan for your next journey to achievement - and while on your journey choose to be enthusiastic, passionate, and fascinated about your life. Being enthusiastic is a special challenge. You can gain new levels of self-awareness.

It has the power to change your life. Not only is it beneficial to your happiness, it develops your spiritual well-being. If you’re in business, go out of your way to make sure your customers, your clients, and others you come in contact with have a pleasant day.

Think happy thoughts. Make it a daily habit to practice being enthusiastic. So go ahead, express your joy - it heals the pain of sorrow, worry and misfortune. It limits the need to feel sad, depressed, or disappointed. Practicing enthusiasm even in the most ordinary things releases its magical power.

Try it - it may work wonders in your life.

Are You Ready for Success?

Are You Ready for Success?

“No one is going to hand me success. I must go out & get it myself. That’s why I’m here. To dominate. To conquer. Both the world, and myself.” – Author Unknown

Everyone I know, and probably everyone you know, dreams of success, riches, and always wants more of what they don’t have. Yet, few really know how to conquer it, including myself. Success requires constant maintenance, preparation, and commitment.

Here are seven ways you can gain riches. Train and test your mind to accept each one so that your life becomes richer and more successful. These seven “laws” include and are not limited to the following:

  1. Be thankful. Express gratitude for everything you have now and everything that is to come. Maintaining an attitude of gratefulness and appreciation for the small things as well as major things makes the universe take notice. Tune your mind to express gratitude.
  2. Be Hopeful. Then use all your power to go after the opportunities that you desire. Aim for the goals that you wish to accomplish, and do all you can do to make each come true. Tune your mind to hope.
  3. Be Loving and Kind. Share your abundance with others. And remember to give back or share with others less fortunate. Whatever you give away will come back to you, sometimes doubled or tripled. Tune your mind to accept love and be kind.
  4. Discover Wisdom. Learn from past failures and mistakes. Be willing to inspire others to use their mind-power to attain riches. By doing so, you gain blessings. Tune your mind to accept wisdom.
  5. Have Faith in Yourself. Backed with faith, your thoughts are powerful. With enough faith your actions are rewarded. Tune your mind to experience faith and accept guidance from a higher, universal source.
  6. Stay Healthy. Reduce as much stress in your life as possible. With poor health and an unfit body, the mind lacks the strength and desire to make good judgments. You also limit positive thoughts, plans, and solutions from entering your mind. Stay tuned to good health habits.
  7. Be Truthful. Know that truth and happiness comes from within; not from owning material possessions. Know that you have a higher power source supplying everything you need in order to live a more successful life. You may draw upon this higher source to get all the necessary guidance and direction you desire.

Remember, while training your mind for success you will discover how to express gratitude. Hope followed with action, wisdom, faith, a healthy body and being truthful in all you do become the benefits. Any one of these may work magic!

Recipe for Success

"Desire is a tremendous force, and must be directed in the right channels (to work). - Florence Scovel Shinn

Take one cup of Desire,
Mix it well with a heart full of Passion,
Shake in a tumbler of Willpower,
Add a full cup of Thought.
Stir in two cups of Commitment,
Slowly add one heaping spoonful each of Preparation, Ideas, Working Capital, and Fun

Mix and stir all of the above ingredients while adding a pinch of Faith (about the size of a mustard seed), and stir all until well blended.

Then with lots of Action, you will soon start to see the results of your Effort and Hard Work.

If your success doesn't come true the first time, start the recipe over again - this time with more feeling. Discover what you need to do to make the recipe for success work. This places you at the threshold of where you wish to be. Listen to the voice inside of you. Trust the source that comes from a Higher Power. He knows all of your wishes, your dreams, your ideas, and your plans for fulfilling them. You will be guided by the wisdom of the ages.

To do this you must start from a new point of action. Get rid of all doubt, confusion, and fear that prevents you from succeeding and reaching your goals. Then you will no longer react to the negative things in your life, but will live with a purpose, and go forth with confidence. Negative events will have no affect on you or the choices you make.

Pay attention to the guidance you receive. Your "inner ear" will lead you to the right choice and in the right direction. If it's something you desire now, go for it. Fearing to make that commitment will make you loose the opportunity - and it may just be the opportunity of your lifetime.

Feel free to change the "recipe for success" in any way you wish. It's yours to amend so that it fits your desires, your goals, your dreams, your life. Make it important enough to change your life. If you're in business become aware of how you conduct yourself with your clients, associates, employees, your vendors and suppliers. Measure their performance based on the way you interact and/or react with them.

If your performance is negative and critical, change it. If it's positive and uplifting, keep doing it. Try not to confuse or frustrate others. Try not to let others confuse, frustrate or anger you. Be aware of your feelings moment by moment. Do you show anger? Doubt? Fear? Are you judgmental? How can you stop your thoughts from controlling you? Knowing how is the first step to knowing yourself. This leads to empowerment - and success.

Will you do it? Will you actually take this step in faith?
