Inspiration A Challenge

Courage Is A Gift

Copyright April, 2017

“ It is not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters.” Quote by - Epictetus, the 1st Century Greek Philosopher

Courage is daring to be brave, enterprising, and bold in your professional or personal life. How often do you question your thoughts, your actions, or your motives? When you don’t exercise the ability to always test yourself, you may lose not only your confidence, but more importantly you lose the ability to focus, and to know yourself or your friends.

Not many people experience life the way they wish it to be. If things don’t work out the way you want, don’t find someone else to blame. Know what goals you want, then find out what actions you need to do to reach them.

Ask yourself questions about your goals. Then compare your own answers to what others may wish for you. After all, having a successful business or personal life filled with contentment, requires you to know yourself and the goals that are best for you.

If you wish to grow and stay successful, courage is important. Learn to value the challenges that always happen in your life. When working through challenges, you find your inner strength. An finding your inner strength gives you a good tool for building self-confidence and self-esteem.

There’s something inside each of us that fuels our motivation, or passion, and our reason to succeed. Keep encouraging yourself to take the necessary risks to refuel your confidence. You are what’s important.

Don’t let negative thoughts get in the way of your progress in reaching your goals. Control your thoughts. Think about what’s important to you. When your thoughts are positive, they have a way of replenishing your courage. No matter how often difficult challenges get you down, don’t give in to negative thinking. Instead, focus on what gives you your strength and uniqueness.

Live life in a constant state of awareness. Practice peaceful thinking. With a dash of forcefulness, and a good measure of faith and spirituality, you will then be exercising your gift of courage.

Paying Attention to You

“You can make yourself happy or miserable, it takes the same amount of effort.” Quote by - Ray Bradbury

In almost every part of daily living, your emotions, your attitude and your current circumstances may depend upon the kind of attention you choose for yourself. One or all of these feelings can prevent you from handling a personal crisis. Or, they can lead you to a more pleasurable experience.

Either choice is the same. You have to get above it, over it, under it, or around the situation. Whenever you are faced with a position you are uncomfortable with, learn to see it for what it is. Then think of how you can handle it and make in harmless. Doing this may make it less important and yourself more stronger.

Here are five ways you can pay attention to your emotions, your attitude and your present situation..

1. Stay in touch with what makes you laugh. Go deep within your heart and become aware of what makes you joyful, peaceful, or content. Find more fun things to do, and treat yourself to the those that make you laugh. Do them often. Your heart and health will thank you.

2. Recognize unpleasant situations. Ignoring the cause of an unpleasant problem does not make it go away. To free yourself from the problem, face it and find a solution. Think of what you would like the best outcome to be than work to make that happen. If the problem persists, you may need to seek outside help.

3. What gives you your inner strengths? Are you confident in most situations. Do you display a positive attitude? Do you have a pleasant personality and are you easy to get along with? Testing yourself this way gives you a glimpse of what makes you who you are.

4. Does religion play a part in your life? Are you willing to rely on your faith to get you through tough times? A certain amount of spirituality, no matter how small, may help you. Trust in your faith. Not only does it soothe and quiet stress, it also replenishes your inner strength.

. Pay attention to your appearance. Are you well dressed and hygienic at all times? What image are you presenting to the world? Is ti professional or casual? With the decline in professional dress and the move toward office casual, your wardrobe may not always express what is more socially acceptable. When possible, paying attention to how your visual appearance always has the power to effect others. Whether it’s a good impression, or not, is up to you.

“Love what you have. Need what you want. Accept what you receive. Give what you can. Always remember, what goes around, comes around.” – Author Unknown

Each of us has a built-in memory of potential possibilities You can actually train your mental powers to work for you in any given situation. Everything is possible with each and every path you take to do it. Once you develop an attitude of strength and confidence, you can learn to do anything you choose.

Focus on results. What do you value? Just knowing that it would be wiser to express positive emotions in your life so that your results are positive, is a worthy cause. Reinvent yourself if you need to become more kind and considerate, less judgmental, and more joyful instead of angry and resentful.

Other worthwhile values and positive attitudes may include:

  1. Expressing courage
  2. Showing strength when in difficult situations
  3. Having respect for others and their points of view if different from yours
  4. Expressing gratitude for the small as well as the major things
  5. Facing challenges with Self-confidence
  6. Developing a forgiving nature
  7. Being well-groomed at all times; giving attention to your appearance and dress (you never know who’s watching you!), and ...
  8. Putting your trust in a Higher Power

When you know where you wish to go in life, motivate yourself and help others do the same. Then take pride in any little step you do that gets you there. Know that you are special and deserve all that life has to offer you.

Goals = Success

““Success means having the courage, the determination, and the will to become the person you believe you were meant to be." – George Sheehan

What are you better at doing than anyone else? What unique abilities give you a competitive edge? Try these seven tips to get you going, then think of any others that may keep you moving toward your personal best and for your personal success.

Human beings can use their potential only by striving to better themselves. “Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.“ - Ralph Waldo Emerson hit upon this important aspect of life and success. Basic plans tied to enthusiasm energizes goals that you set for yourself. In fact, a basic idea imagined first in your mind, with deep passion, can and will eventually become real. This type of achievement and motivation is vital for success.

The three major steps needed for achievement of a goal are:

  1. Have A General Concept or Idea

A generalization of something that you want to accomplish should be narrowed down to a logical and workable plan. This allows your goal to be achievable and within reach. For example, if you are interested in helping the elderly, the limits are endless. So, narrow down the ways you can help. Your goal cannot be attained with just a broad generalization because all elders cannot be helped by one person. When the concept is narrowed down, then it becomes realistic. One approach would be to volunteer or work in a retirement home. Another may be to visit the elderly in your neighborhood and help with their household tasks. Make up a similar plan for each of your goals.

  2. Make A Clear Description of Known and Potential Barriers

Describe what’s possible and what’s not possible to do. Think of the problems or obstacles that may arise. Could you find the time to do it? Does it require a huge financial obligation? What are some of the other possible barriers? A well thought-out description prepares you for a successful result.

  3. Create A Reasonable Plan for Carrying Out Your Goal

The last step is the work you need to do to put any plan into action. Undivided attention of your goal is necessary. Regardless of the obstacles, the plan’s guidelines, including the descriptions, should take care of them. If you complete your plan correctly, your goal may be successfully completed.

The real test of personal success is your ability to set goals, define the barriers or obstacles, and find the vital steps that allow progress. Do all that you can to help set your plan into action.

Then above all, put enthusiasm into your planning. Enthusiasm is the emotional key to making your plan work. It helps you grow, it broadens your senses, increases your faith in making things happen. It provides your mind with positive personal triumph. Go, do and be successful!

Seven Tips for Personal Success

““To change your position in life, which includes your financial condition, you have to change what is going on inside of you." – Joan Sotkin

What are you better at doing than anyone else? What unique abilities give you a competitive edge? Try these seven tips to get you going, then think of any others that may keep you moving toward your personal best and for your personal success.

ONE - Think in Positives

No matter what you do, whether it is great or small, will be determined by your thoughts. If you think with a defeatist attitude, you tend to achieve failure. Turn this around and train your mind to start thinking with optimistic visions, and you may get successful results. By the thoughts you give priority to, you intentionally create your own successful circumstances.

TWO - Believe in Yourself - and God

Deliberately tune out every negative thought you have about yourself. Focus on your strong points. Think of all the natural gifts, talents, and skills you were born with and picture yourself succeeding . Do not leave God out of the equation. Success can be yours when you and God work together. Do your best, then leave the results confidently to God. That’s faith in action!

Three - Set Your Goal

Write your goal down. Then write down the steps or smaller goals which may help you reach your main objective. Ask yourself, “Is my goal right for me?” Consider all the facts that can lead to your achieving what you desire. However, there is no easy road to success. Learn to deal with problems calmly and rationally. Always find the good in a problem and remember that there is always a way it can be solved - with or without outside help. Learn to organize your time efficiently. Appreciate the “now,” it is yours to use.

Four - Take the First Step

“Do it now,” said W. Clement Stone, a businessman and philanthropist. And the great Chinese philosopher Leo-Tse, once said, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” Take that step and do it now. Good intentions will not give you success. Plan your work, then work your plan. Each step forward is a step closer to your goal. When you link your steps or goals to a clear purpose, with enough passion behind it, you experience success.

Five - Expand Your Desire

A strong desire is extremely important when trying to reach any goal. When your desire is soul deep, you experience a deep hunger for your goal to happen. All the inner forces of your nature act to bring about a realization of your desire. So, direct your thoughts to how successful you wish to be in life. Then put action and faith behind your wish and make it happen.

Success then, begins in your mind. So start thinking success. You can if you think you can. Only positive thinking combined with strong positive feelings, may bring you positive results.
